SHARP (Senior Housing Assistance Repair Program) provides senior and disabled homeowners in Lafayette with small household repairs at no cost to the owners. SHARP is a joint effort of the The Center @ Jenks Rest (TCCA) and Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette.

What Can SHARP Do For You? SHARP helps with home repairs such as:

  • leaky faucets
  • wheelchair ramps
  • electrical problems
  • minor roof repair
  • cracked ceilings
  • loose carpet
  • leaky toilets
  • broken windows
  • brick foundations

Do I Qualify?

  • Be age 62 or older or permanently disabled
  • Living within the city limits of Lafayette
  • Own your own home (mobile homes do not qualify)
  • Meet income guidelines

Fees?

  • There are no fees for the repair work

How Do I Sign Up?

  • Call 447-2311 ext 204 and ask for an application or stop by The Center
  • Complete the application and send it back with documentation of your age and income.
  • You will received a call back once all your information has been received

  • United Way of Greater Lafayette
  • Lafayette Savings Bank (FHLBI NIP funds)
  • The Home Depot- grant for power and hand tools
  • Pyramid Sign & Design and Von Tobel Lumber for lettering on our new SHARP Van
